Chicago Bandits tickets to NPF Championship Series go on sale Saturday August 16

ELGIN, IL.-Tickets for the National Pro Fastpitch Championship Series in Kimberly, Wisconsin go on sale on Saturday, August 16 when the Chicago Bandits play the Rockford Thunder at the Judson Sports Complex.

Tickets will be available at the game inside the park and for more information call 877-7BANDIT.

The NPF Championship Series is from August 21-24 at Sunset Point Park. For the first time ever, a fan fest is scheduled for Thursday, August 21 and will feature a home run derby.

The top four teams in the NPF qualify for the NPF Championship Series and will play a double elimination tournament from August 22-24.

Currently the Washington Glory sit atop the NPF standings and are one game ahead of both the Bandits and Philadelphia Force. The Akron Racers and New England Riptide are tied for the final playoff spot with identical 19-24 records and the Rockford Thunder (17-26) are two games behind.

Chicago qualified for the playoffs with an 8-7 win over New England Saturday night. The Bandits trailed 7-6 in the sixth inning when Samantha Findlay hit a solo home run to tie the game and Laura Harms came through with the clutch hit to win the game with a one run shot.

The Bandits are searching for its first NPF championship after winning the NPF Regular Season Championships in 2005 and 2006.

The Bandits have one more series remaining before the Road 2 Kimberly begins when they take on Rockford from August 14-17 at the Judson Sports Complex. Tickets are available by calling 877-7BANDIT or visiting www.chicagobandits.com.

The Chicago Bandits are in its fourth season in the National Pro Fastpitch women's professional softball league and have qualified for the playoffs three times.
