CHICAGO - The Chicago Red Stars announced their roster updates ahead of the start to their 2020 NWSL Fall Series campaign.

2019 FIFA World Cup Champions Alyssa Naeher, Morgan Gautrat, and Tierna Davidson are part of the Fall Series roster. The Red Stars will also feature veteran players Vanessa DiBernardo, Danielle Colaprico, Casey Short, Sarah Gorden, and Kealia Watt on the roster. Defender Arin Wright is on Chicago's Fall Series roster as well following the birth of her child in the spring.

A number of players on the Chicago Red Stars roster will be unavailable for the Fall Series due to their current loans overseas. Forward Makenzy Doniak and goalkeeper Emily Boyd currently play for Denmark side HB Køge. Forward Rachel Hill joined Swedish side Linköpings FC, goalkeeper Cassie Miller currently plays for Apollon Ladies FC in Cyprus, defender Kayla Sharples is on loan to Finland club Kuopion Palloseura, and midfielder Yuki Nagasato joined men's amateur side Hayabusa Eleven in Japan.

Chicago has made additions to its Fall Series roster. Goalkeeper Kelsey Daugherty, defender Camryn Biegalski, midfielder Aerial Chavarin, and forward Dani Rhodes were signed to short-term contracts.

Biegalski was selected by the Red Stars with the 16th overall selection in the 2020 NWSL College Draft. Her noteworthy performances in 2019 with the University of Wisconsin earned her second-team 2019 United Soccer Coaches All-America honors.

Rhodes joins Biegalski on the Red Stars after being teammates at the University of Wisconsin. With 13 goals in 2019, she was named the Big Ten Forward of the Year and a Second Team All-American. Nine of her 13 goals were game-winning scores, which ranked second in the nation.

Chavarin's accolades include Ivy League's Defensive Player of the Year and United Soccer Coaches All-America Second Team. She was only the third Bulldog to earn All-America recognition and the first since 2005. Chavarin was also a Three-time All-Ivy selection, including two-time first-team selection. In 2019, Chavarin was invited to play in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association Senior Bowl.

A standout at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Daugherty set the school record with 351 saves and second in program history with 6462 minutes played. She joined Denmark side Fortuna Hjørring in 2019.

Defender Julie Ertz has elected to opt-out of the NWSL Fall Series.

The Red Stars begin the 2020 NWSL Fall Series this Saturday, September 12 against the Washington Spirit at 11 am CT live on Twitch. They will return to SeatGeek Stadium the following week against Sky Blue FC for a matchup on Sunday, September 20.
