Arkansas Diamonds News Release

The Arkansas Twisters werenÂ’t as successful on the field as fans would have liked, but the Twisters proved to be a juggernaut off the field by placing in six of eight possible awards the af2 League office announced after the ArenaCup.

Team Photographer Nelson Chenault and team mascot Radar led the way by being named the af2Â’s best photo and best mascot respectively. Chenault has had the leagueÂ’s best photo four out of the five years the league has existed.

Media Relations Director and voice of the Arkansas Twisters Jake Hatley had two second place awards for best Media Guide and Commercial. HatleyÂ’s commercial, which was produced by Dewayne Wilbur, can be seen on the Twisters website at www.arkansastwisters.com.

The Twisters dance team, the Sirens, also placed second in the league. ItÂ’s the first time the Sirens have placed in their five year history. The Twisters were honored with a third place award for best promotional item for the bobblehead dolls given out throughout the 2004 season.

The six awards were a league high for 2004 with the next closest being two. ItÂ’s also the most awards Arkansas has ever received.

Season tickets are now on sale for the 2005 season, and fans will receive a free football for purchasing two new season tickets in the lower bowl section of Alltel Arena. Tickets can be purchased by calling 975-KICK.
