Checkers Help Present 'Honor The Badge' Party

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers have teamed up with Lite 102.9 and Dixie's Tavern to help present "Honor the Badge" Dixie's Patio Party at 4 p.m., Friday, June 8. All proceeds from the party will benefit the families of fallen CMPD officers Sean Clark and Jeff Shelton.

Tickets for the event are $15 at the door and raffle tickets can be purchased for $5. The $15 ticket includes free Miller Lite draft and a complimentary buffet. There will be live music by Hunters Travisty as well as DJ Jazzy Jimmy.

The Checkers have donated tickets for the 2007-08 season to be raffled off as well a date with a CheckMate. The date will include a limousine ride to Hawthorne's NY Pizza and Bar for dinner and tickets to Uncle Sam Jam at Dixie's Tavern on Saturday, June 23.

Also helping to present the night are Value Brakes, the Gordon/Andretti Racing School, Uptown Charlotte Limousines, Hawthorne's NY Pizza and Bar and Jack Daniels.

The Checkers will begin their 15th season of play in the ECHL with two home games on opening weekend. The Checkers will host the Columbia Inferno on Friday, Oct. 19 and the Texas Wildcatters on Saturday, Oct. 20. In the team's 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three-consecutive playoff appearances to date. The Checkers will enter their third season of play at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena this fall. Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting at just $399.
