OKLAHOMA CITY - OKC Energy FC may not open their season for another six weeks, but the team is active this weekend at events across the metro area.

Beginning Friday night, OKC Energy FC players and staff are taking part in the Live on the Plaza event at the Plaza District on NW 16th Street in Oklahoma City. Every second Friday of the month, Plaza District businesses stay open late with featured artists, live music, special events and local shopping. The event begins at 7 p.m.

Energy FC's community team has a presence at the annual Bart & Nadia Sports Experience at the Cox Convention Center. The event is open Saturday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and is FREE to the public. Take the OKC Energy FC soccer challenge as part of the event's Perfect 10 Fitness Challenge.

For those wanting their soccer fix, OKC Energy FC is hosting their annual open combine at the Norman Soccer Complex at 1001 E. Robinson Street. The combine participants compete in games on Friday evening from 6 - 7:30 p.m., drills Saturday morning from 10 - noon and a final game Saturday afternoon from 2:30 - 4 p.m.

Following the game Saturday evening, the top players from the combine are will be chosen to play in a game against Energy FC players on Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. Every event at the combine is free to attend and open to the public.

The combine participants are competing for a minimum of two spots to train with OKC Energy FC as they prepare for their season. The first stop is the IMG Classic in Bradenton, FL. OKC Energy FC will compete against Major League Soccer teams Toronto FC and New York Red Bulls as well as the Danish club HB Koge. EnergyFC.com will have full coverage of the tournament.
