Ottawa and Grand Rapids Swap Dahlman and Kwiatkowski

Grand Rapids, MI - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Monday released center Colin Chaulk.

Chaulk, 25, appeared in eight games with Grand Rapids, registering a pair of goals and 11 penalty minutes. He recorded the game-tying tallies in the Griffins' 1-1 deadlock at Utah on March 16 and their 1-1 draw against Milwaukee on March 20.

Chaulk returns to the West Coast Hockey League's Colorado Gold Kings, where he ranks fourth on the club with 62 points (19-43-62). Prior to joining the Gold Kings he spent a brief stint with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers, recording no points in three contests.

In moves last weekend, the Ottawa Senators assigned forward Toni Dahlman to Grand Rapids on Saturday and recalled defenseman Joel Kwiatkowski on Sunday. Dahlman joined the Senators on March 20 as an emergency recall for former Griffin Chris Neil, who injured his hip in game against Buffalo the night before. He has played 10 games for Ottawa this season, picking up his only point, an assist, against the Toronto Maple Leafs on January 7.

The 22-year-old rookie has appeared in 43 games for Grand Rapids this season, notching six goals, six assists and 25 penalty minutes.

Kwiatkowski, who turned 25 on Friday, joined the Senators for the second time this season as a replacement for Sami Salo, who is out with a back injury. He was first recalled on December 18 and has now appeared in nine games with Ottawa, registering eight penalty minutes and a plus-four rating.

This season, the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, native has played 59 games with the Griffins, recording eight goals, 15 assists and 86 penalty minutes.
