
Charge Sweep Maine to Advance to East Finals

The Canton Charge, presented by SecureData 365 and powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, defeated the Maine Red Claws, 123-117, to sweep their playoff series and advance to the NBA Development League Eastern Conference Finals for the second-consecutive season.
John Holland hit a contested three as the shot clock was expiring to put Canton ahead 121-117 with 25.3 seconds left in the game. The Charge then got a pair of stops in between an offensive rebound on the other end, with two Quinn Cook free-throws then sealing the deal. Canton's 123 points scored set a new franchise record for a playoff game.
Cook broke Holland's franchise record for individual points in a playoff contest set in Game 1 by netting 31 with 10 rebounds and six assists in 40 minutes. Holland finished 6-of-7 from three-point range to score 27 points with six boards and five assists in 36 minutes. Nick Minnerath came off the bench to add 24 points and seven boards in 32 minutes.
The Red Claws were led by Marcus Thornton's 28 points and four steals. Boston Celtics assignment Jordan Mickey posted a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds in 31 minutes.
Canton will face the winner of the Sioux Falls-Westchester series that will begin on a to-be-determined date and time.
