Charge Announce 2015-16 Opening Day Roster

The Canton Charge, presented by SecureData 365 and powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, have waived F Sampson Carter, G Dee Davis, C Moussa Gueye, and G Joel Smith, the team announced today. Canton also placed G Antonio Barton and G Cameron Wright on the inactive list. The moves put Canton's regular season opening day roster at twelve, with ten active players and two on the inactive list.

The roster is headlined by three returning players: Antoine Agudio has been with the franchise since its inaugural season, while Michael Dunigan and Kevin Olekaibe are both back after being drafted by the Charge before the 2014-15 season.

Sir'Dominic Pointer was a second round choice in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and will be a protected player in Canton for this season. Quinn Cook, Nick Minnerath, and D.J. Stephens all made the opening day roster after participating in NBA training camp with the Cavs. The three were added to the Charge via the NBA D-League's affiliate rule.

Two players who attended Canton's local tryouts made the opening day roster: Cleveland Benedictine graduate Cameron Wright and JerShon Cobb. Canton's 15th overall selection in the D-League Draft, Antonio Barton, leads the draft day acquisitions to make the roster along with Michael Stockton and Juvonte Reddic.
