Charge Announce 2015-16 Coaching Staff & Training Camp Roster

November 2, 2015 - NBA G League (G League)
Cleveland Charge News Release

The Canton Charge have finalized their coaching staff and training camp roster in preparation for the upcoming 2015-16 season. Head Coach Jordi Fernandez returns to Canton after a franchise-best 31-19 record last year and the team's fourth consecutive playoff berth. The training camp roster consists of 16 players with various collegiate and professional experience assembled through the NBA Development League Draft, returning players, local open tryouts, and the affiliate player rule.

Assistant Coaches Mike Batiste and Nate Reinking return, while NBA veteran Damon Jones has been added to help support Coach Jordi this season. Also assisting the basketball staff will be Player Development/Video Coordinator Ben Resner, promoted from an assistant role last season, and Basketball Operations Assistant Steve Klei. Head Athletic Trainer Mike Gittinger returns for his fifth season and will be backed by newcomer Elbert Denina who will serve as Assistant Athletic Trainer/Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Three returning players will be back in Canton for training camp. Antoine Agudio has been with the franchise since its inaugural season, while Michael Dunigan and Kevin Olekaibe both will be back after being drafted by the Charge before the 2014-15 season.

Sir'Dominic Pointer was a second round choice in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and will be a protected player in Canton for this season. Quinn Cook, Nick Minnerath, and D.J. Stephens all participated in NBA training camp with the Cavs and were added to the Charge roster via the affiliate rule.

Four players earned invitations to training camp through the Canton's local tryouts in last month, including Cleveland Benedictine graduate Cam Wright. Canton's 15th overall selection in the D-League Draft, Antonio Barton, headlines the five players acquired on draft day.

Coaches will submit an opening day roster of 10 players on Thursday, November 12th as the Charge open the 2015-16 season at home against the Maine Red Claws on Saturday, November 14th at 7:00 p.m.
