
Channel 4 to Carry Next Two Riptide Home Games

SAN DIEGO â The Riptide will broadcast their next two home games live on Channel 4 â San Diego. The first of these two games will come this Saturday, May 8, against the first-place Hawaiian Islanders.
Both games will kick off at 7 p.m. PDT and will be carried live on Channel 4 â San Diego, who also carries games for the Padres and Gulls, among others. The play-by-play and color commentary will be done by Mighty 1090 personalities Billy Ray Smith and Scott Kaplan. In addition, Bill Werndl will handle all on-field interviews and sideline reporting.
In addition to this week's game against Hawaii, Channel 4 will also broadcast the Riptide's May 22 game against the two-time af2 champion Quad City Steamwheelers.
The Riptide will also be offering special ticket packages for these games. Fans will have the opportunity to sit in the "Scott and BR Section" in the lower end-zone for just $10 per ticket. The "Scott and BR Section" is sure to be among the rowdiest and loudest in the building and will be up-close-and-personal for every score as well as the award-winning Riptide Dance Team. In addition to the great on-field action, the May 8 game will also feature free Riptide long-sleeve t-shirts, courtesy of Channel 4 â San Diego to the first 3,000 fans as well as the first-ever "Brats for Breast Cancer" Night at the Sports Arena. The Clever Cleaver Brothers will be grilling up free bratwursts in the parking lot before the game for all fans who purchase their tickets using the special "Brats for Breast Cancer" coupons which can be downloaded by clicking here. Additionally, the âTide will hold a special pre-game ceremony honoring breast cancer survivors and portions of the game's ticket sales will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
