Champs Bring Cameron Back for 2009-10 Season

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (July 23)-The Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) just beefed up on offense as they announced the re-signing of forward Jordan Cameron for the 2009-10 campaign.

Cameron, coming off of a highly productive season last year, will join the Brahmas for his third stint in Texas. Last season the Drayton Valley, ALTA native averaged over a point per game posting 60 points (23 goals, 37 assists) in 55 games. His 37 assists led the Brahmas roster. Cameron also did damage on the penalty kill last season recording the Brahmas franchise record in shorthanded goals with seven.

Before joining Texas in their 2008-09 CHL Championship season, Cameron played overseas in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), scoring 14 points (6 G, 8 A) in 13 games.

"Jordan is a unique player that uses his size and offensive play to his advantage and helps the team succeed," Brahmas Head Coach Dan Wildfong said of the newest Brahmas roster addition.

Prior to joining the Brahmas in 2007-08, Cameron played in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) with the Wheeling Nailers of West Virginia. The 25-year-old winger recorded a career high 69 points (28 goals, 41 assists) in 72 games.

In 2005-2006, he posted 58 points (25 goals, 33 assists) in 68 games with Wheeling. Prior to playing in with the Nailers, Cameron played with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL in 2003-2004 and 2004-2005. In two seasons as an Ace, Cameron netted 42 points (22 goals, 20 assists) in 116 games.

The 6-foot-4 forward developed his skills in the Atlantic Junior Hockey League (AJHL) and the Western Hockey League (WHL). In his 2002-2003 campaign with the Drayton Valley Thunder of Vancouver, Cameron recorded 56 points (24 goals, 32 assists) and 123 penalty minutes in 55 games.

In the WHL, Cameron played for both the Vancouver Giants and Tri-City Americans. As a Giant, he saw action in 29 games and tallied 9 points (4 goals, 5 assists). In two seasons with Tri-City, Cameron played in 75 games and recorded 57 points (11 goals, 26 assists) with 110 penalty minutes.

Cameron is the eighth signing for the Brahmas for the 2009-10 season, joining: Brett Jaeger, Craig Minard, Casey Russell, Jason Deitsch, Jamie Carroll, AJ Gale and Anders Strome.
