Salem-Keizer Volcanoes News Release
KEIZER, OR - The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes are Northwest League Western Division Champions, for the fourth consecutive season, and will host the decisive Games 3, 4*, and 5*, of the best of 5, Northwest League Championship Series THIS Wednesday, September 9 (6:35pm), Thursday, September 10*(6:35pm) and Friday, September 11*(7:05pm) (*if necessary), all at Volcanoes Stadium.
The Volcanoes will face the Tri City Dust Devils, the League's Eastern Division winner, for the 2009 Northwest League Championship. Game 1 will be played on Monday September 7th and game 2 on Tuesday, September 8th at 1:30 p.m - both in Tri City. The remaining decisive games, of the NWLCS, will take place in Keizer, Oregon -- the winner will be crowned at Volcanoes Stadium !
Salem's own, Joey Wong, from Sprague High School and a member of the Oregon State Beavers National Championship team, will be returning home - Wong signed a professional contract this June and is a member of the Dust Devils team.
