Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
Derrel Ebert, who served as the Vice President/General Manager of the Tri-City Dust Devils during the 2005 and 2006 seasons, is returning to the team in the same capacity.
Ebert spent this summer with the Bellingham Bells of the West Coast League and the previous two seasons with the High Desert Mavericks of the California League as Vice President/General Manager. The Dust Devils, Bells, and Mavericks are all co-owned by Hall of Fame third baseman George Brett.
The Dust Devils increased attendance by 25% during the two seasons of Ebert's previous tenure.
"I'm excited to be back with the Dust Devils and a part of the Tri-Cities community, and look forward to working with our great fans, sponsors, and the Colorado Rockies," said Ebert.
"With Derrel's previous experience in the Tri-Cities, he is the perfect person to lead the Dust Devils as we continue to provide affordable family entertainment," stated Dust Devils President and co-owner Brent Miles.
Monica Ortega, the Dust Devils' Vice President/General Manager during the 2008 and 2009 seasons, will be the Vice President - Ticket Sales for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes of the California League. The Quakes were recently purchased by the Brett Family.
Miles will add the duties of president and co-owner of the Quakes and will oversee the operations of both teams while residing in Rancho Cucamonga. He will remain the Dust Devils' representative to the Northwest League's Board of Directors.
