Champions introduce starting five

November 2, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Anderson Champions News Release

Anderson, IN. Bobby Wilkerson, former Indiana University and NBA star, and co-owner of the ABA Anderson Champions, unveiled five bottles of private-labeled water of the ten cases that were shipped to the team yesterday. The private-labeled bottled water is something his company, Cool Wave Water, will provide in bulk for the team. The private label can feature Players of the Week, the entire team or simply the team logo. The Champions will benefit from having private labeling both financially and as a result of advertising. Currently, the team is working to have their private-labeled water in every gas station/convenience store in Anderson. Wilkerson said, "This program is available to all ABA and professional sports teams. People love water and it is a great way to support your hometown team." For more information about the water, call Melvin Forbes at 301 568 3910.

On another note, the team has a major scrimmage on Friday night at the Anderson Wigwam, 1229 Lincoln Street in Anderson. There will be a light practice at 6pm with an all out scrimmage for the final stops on this year's team at 730pm. The cost is $5 for general admissions, $3 for children under 12 and free to children under 5 years. For more information, visit www.andersonchampions.com or call Coach Ray Tolbert at 317 849 1261 x 2326 or email rayt@east91st.org. Or visit www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
