Chafin to Reno, Brewer Joins Mobile

MOBILE, AL -- The Mobile BayBears and Arizona Diamondbacks have announced that on Wednesday, May 21, LHP Andrew Chafin has been promoted from Class AA Mobile to Class AAA Reno. RHP Charles Brewer has been transferred from Class AAA Reno to Class AA Mobile.
Chafin began the year with the BayBears, posting a 4-1 mark with a 1.96 ERA in nine starts with Mobile. The lefty will make his AAA debut for the Aces Friday, May 23, on the road against the Albuquerque Isotopes.
Brewer brings Major League experience to the BayBears. The righty made his Major League debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks June 10, 2013 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In four games with the D-backs, Brewer allowed two runs on eight hits in six innings of work. The Paradise Valley native went 5-12 with a 4.90 ERA in 25 games including 22 starts with AAA Reno in 2013. Brewer began 2014 with the Aces, going 3-5 with a 7.28 ERA in nine starts. In 2012 Brewer made three starts for Mobile before being promoted to Reno.
