NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (August 9)-The Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) announced the re-signing of last season's league leader in goals, Chad Woollard, for the 2010-11 campaign.

Woollard, a former member of the Brahmas during their reign in Fort Worth for five seasons (2000-2005) will re-join the black and purple following an incredible offensive season last year. In 65 games with Texas, Woollard netted 92 points (46 G, 46 A), had nine powerplay goals, 8 game winning goals and was named Oakley's first star for the month of February. The veteran winger led the Brahmas roster in scoring and was fifth in the league. From February 1-March 11, Woollard impressively had a 17 game point streak.

The high profile winger holds the Brahmas' franchise records in: games played (532), points (400), goals (178), shots (1287), game winning goals (23) and powerplay goals (50). Last season, the Durham, ONT native hit a pair of milestones as he scored his 700th career point and played in his 700th career game. Woollard has ten hat tricks as a player in the CHL, including five as a Brahma. Last year he nailed a hat trick against the Jackalopes in an 8-6 Brahmas victory on November 23 on the road.

Woollard set his mark in professional hockey as a member of the Fort Worth Brahmas where he accumulated 308 points (132 G, 176 A) in 467 games. In 2001-02 he joined the Utah Grizzlies, the Stars AHL affiliate at the time, for a pair of games after competing at their training camp in the fall. Woollard has also been called up by the St. John's Maple Leafs (AHL).

The beginning of Woollard's professional career came in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) in 1999-2000 when he skated for the Jackson Bandits and Greensboro Generals. In 32 games, he had 14 points (6 G, 8 A).

"Bringing Woolley back was key in our efforts to have a strong offensive team. It is a certain level of comfort we receive with Chad on the ice; he is a special player who can get things done," said Brahmas Head Coach Dan Wildfong regarding the comeback of Woollard.

Woollard is the sixth announced signing by the Brahmas for the 2011-12 campaign; joining defensemen Jim Burichin and Ross Rouleau, forwards Alex Curran and Mike Towns and goaltender Steve Silverthorn.
