Moline, IL-Quad City Mallards Head Coach and General Manager Brian Curran announced today that forward Chad Peck has been added to the 2005-06 Mallards roster. Peck will begin his fourth pro season this fall in the Quad Cities.

Last season, Peck spent time with the Motor City Mechanics of the United Hockey League and the Fayetteville Fireantz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). During his 20-game stint in Motor City, Peck scored four goals with four assists for eight points.

The Danford Lake, Quebec native finished the year with Fayetteville where he recorded 48 points (18 goals and 30 assists). Peck recorded an amazing plus 30 rating during his time with the Fireantz. He tied for third in the SPHL in plus-minus despite playing just 32 games in the league.

"Chad has proven he can play in this league," said Curran. "We expect him to contribute to our offense. He's shown he can do that with his play in the Southern League, and we expect him to fulfill that potential here."

Peck played the 2003-04 season in the World Hockey Association 2 (WHA2) with Lakeland and Alabama. In 52 games in the WHA2, he recorded 22 goals and 22 assists for 44 points. Peck began his pro career in 2002-03 with Jacksonville of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League (ACHL). In 19 games as a rookie, Peck had a pair of goals with eight assists for 10 points.
