Central Valley Fuego FC News Release

FRESNO, CA - Central Valley Fuego FC, the Central Valley's highest level of sports, today announced a significant technical staff update with the mutual parting of ways with Head Coach Martin Vasquez. In light of this development, the Club has appointed Sporting Director Adam Smith as the Head Coach for the remainder of the 2023 season.

Under Martin Vasquez's leadership, the Club secured its first and second international friendly matches with C.F. Pachuca and the upcoming match against Club Atletico Morelia. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Coach Vasquez for his unwavering dedication, passion, and hard work throughout his tenure. His contributions have played an integral role in the growth and development of our organization.

Moving forward, we are pleased to appoint Adam Smith as the Head Coach for the remainder of the 2023 season. Adam, who has been serving as our sporting director, has spent his tenure building our academy program. He possesses an exceptional understanding of the sport and a proven track record in management and leadership of professional fútbol clubs. We have full confidence in his ability to guide the team into the playoffs as we turn the page to this new chapter of the Club's history.

We believe this technical staff update will infuse renewed energy and direction into our team. We are fully committed to providing the necessary support to our new Head Coach Adam Smith and the entire coaching staff to ensure their success. Our ultimate aim remains to deliver top-quality performances on the field while fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

As we embark on this new chapter we would like to express our gratitude to the loyal fans, sponsors, and supporters who have stood by us throughout our journey. Your unwavering dedication and passion for the team continues to inspire us. We remain committed to our original goal to be viable for a playoff spot this season and we remain undeterred regardless of the circumstances.

"Both the players and the technical staff remain committed to our original goal," Managing Partner Juan G. Ruelas Jr said. "That determination speaks volumes about the character of these men who wear our crest and do so with pride. We want to thank everyone who has been with us during these tough times. This league is not easy. Last season most teams had not clinched a playoff spot until the last possible week. That is how tight League One is. You can expect the level of play to continue to increase as we look forward into 2024 and as the World Cup approaches. Our fans can expect at the very least to see the best fútbol in town, and it is only going to get better!"
