Central Hockey League Announces Suspensions
February 8, 2013 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
GLENDALE, AZ (February 8, 2013) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Missouri Mavericks defenseman Jesse Perrin has been suspended one (1) game and Bloomington Blaze forward Leo Thomas has been suspended nine (9) games.
Perrin will miss the Mavericks next game (February 8 at Allen) as a result of receiving a match penalty in Tuesday's game at Quad City. Perrin was given a major penalty for an "Ëillegal check to the head' infraction that is accompanied by the match penalty. Perrin's lack of previous discipline along with the perceived lack of intent to injure was taken into account in the final decision.
After a review and investigation for his actions in a different league, Thomas' suspension is a continuation of the penalty assessed by that league. Thomas will be eligible to return to the Blaze for February 28th's game against Quad City.
