Central Hockey League Announces 2010-11 Conference Alignment

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, today announced the league's conference alignment for the upcoming 2010-11 season. Additionally, the team has announced its home opener is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 22 at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley. The 2010-11 campaign is set to begin on Friday, Oct. 15.

The league's Board of Governors voted to retain the two-conference format established prior to the 2009-10 season. The league's 18 teams will be divided primarily based on geographic location and will compete in nine-team Northern and Southern Conferences. The Arizona Sundogs will remain in the league's Southern Conference. Each conference will be given a name reflective of the histories of the CHL and International Hockey League and will be announced at a later date. The respective conference alignments are listed below.

Arizona will open the season on the road for just the second time in the franchise's five-year history. The club also opened the 2006-07 season on the road as construction of Tim's Toyota Center wasn't completed until November 2006.
