INDIANAPOLIS -- In celebration of Black History Month, children and families can learn about Indiana's rich African-American history and earn a chance to win great prizes by participating in the Indiana Historical Society's Indiana Black History Challenge from Feb. 1 through Feb 27.

As a part of the 2010 Indiana Black History Challenge, participants are encouraged to investigate Indiana Black History facts and answer a series of multiple-choice questions for a chance to win an array of prizes. The grand prize for the contest includes a Family Fun Pack including an overnight stay at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Indianapolis, an IHS family membership, a gift certificate to The Best Chocolate in Town, four tickets to the Indiana State Museum and a special invitation to the grand opening of the Indiana Experience at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center on March 20, 2010.

The first 5,000 entrants receive a prize, while all participants with 10 correct answers will be automatically entered in a drawing for the grand prize. The grand prize winner will be drawn on Friday, March 5, and notified by phone.

All completed game cards are to be returned to any Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library location or the History Center for consideration. One participant from each IMCPL branch and the History Center will win a family four-pack of tickets to an Indianapolis Indians game. The History Center is located at 450 West Ohio Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
