Cedar Rapids, Iowa - The Riders are pleased to announce the launch of their newly designed website at www.RiderTownUSA.com. "We couldn't be happier with our new site. Along with other upgrades we're making this year, we're confident the website brings the Riders to a new level of competitive intensity, while providing fans with the news, videos, and interaction they want, " said Jeff Jauch, President and CEO of the Riders.
The new site features an enhanced news section, High definition videos including game recaps, interviews, and behind the scenes footage, New fan polls each week, Online ticket sales, stats for the team and individual players, contests and specials, and the latest information on upcoming player and Ricochet appearances. The new web presence also offers more ways than ever to connect with the Riders, including Facebook and Twitter pages, and e-newsletter sign-up for those who would like to receive weekly updates from The Riders. RiderTownUSA.com was built for the Riders by Metro Studios in Hiawatha, Iowa. Mark Jones, manager of web services at Metro Studios said the following on the project, "We had a great time working on this project for the Riders. Not only do we love hockey, but we love what the Riders bring to the Eastern Iowa community. We enjoyed building an effective, fan-centered site that will represent the Riders for years to come." Aside from the website, there are many other new and exciting things taking place over at The Stable. The first ever Battle of Iowa, sponsored by i Wireless, will take place on September 19th and 20th, where the RoughRiders will welcome their in-state United States Hockey League rivals from Waterloo, Des Moines and Sioux City to The Stable for the four-team tournament.
The battle for statewide supremacy will open with a match-up between the Des Moines Buccaneers and Sioux City Musketeers on Saturday, September 19 at 3:00PM, followed by the RoughRiders vs. The Waterloo Black Hawks at 7:00PM. The Riders will then clash with either Des Moines or Sioux City at 5:00PM on Sunday the 20th.Tickets to the Battle of Iowa go on sale Tuesday, September 8th at the RoughRiders' ticket office and online at www.ridertownusa.com. And don't miss Rider Cast, the open casting call being held tonight at The Stable, presented by CBS2 and FOX28. The Riders are looking for a RiderRadio Play-by-Play Announcer, Public Address Announcer, and a RiderVision Host for the 2009-10 season. Winners will be compensated $100 per game. The auditions will be held at tonight, August 27th from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at The Stable (1100 Rockford Road SW) in Cedar Rapids, IA.
