
Cavalry split series with Daredevils

LAWTON, OKLA.- The Butte Daredevils took control in the second half to defeat the Oklahoma Cavalry 99-90.
The teams traded leads in the first half with the Cavs leading by as many as seven in the second quarter. The Cavs went in to halftime leading by one.
The Daredevils started the second half hot making 20 of their 38 shots. Butte was led by Odell Bradley with 29 points and Martane Freeman added 20 points.
The Cavs came within 4 points with 9:56 left in the fourth quarter. Point leaders of the game for the Cavs were Marvin Phillips with 27 points and Curtis Haywood with 17.
Cavs Assistant Coach Greg Minor said the team was three steps slower than last night's match.
"The problem is the team played no defense. If they can learn to play team defense, the problem can be fixed," said Minor.
The second home loss brings the Cavs recorded 9-10.
The Cavalry will have a break until the Jan. 14th. The team will meet the Minot Skyrockets at 7:30 p.m. at the Great Plains Coliseum.
