Erie BayHawks News Release
ERIE - The Cleveland Cavaliers have assigned rookie forward Darnell Jackson to the NBA Development League Erie BayHawks. Jackson will be in the BayHawks lineup for the game Wednesday night versus the Austin Toros, 7 pm at the Tullio Arena.
Jackson was selected in the second round (52nd overall pick) of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat. The Cavs acquired Jackson in a draft day trade, sending the lower of their second round picks in the 2009 draft to Miami in the exchange.
Jackson has seen limited action in 37 games with the Cavaliers thus far this season, notching 45 rebounds and 38 points thus far in his rookie campaign. While in college, Jackson helped lead the Kansas Jayhawks to four straight Big 12 regular season titles and the 2008 NCAA title, averaging nearly 12 points per game in his senior year.
