
Cats Win to Begin Road Campaign

The Fort Worth Cats opened their first road trip of the season with a 10-4 victory over the Roadrunners Saturday night in Edinburg.
The Cats got the scoring started in third inning when Greg Bachman drove in Tim Maitland to make a 1-0 lead. An error allowed two more runs to score to make a 3-0 game.
The Roadrunners (2-7) responded with two runs in the fourth inning with RBIs from Nick Lancisi and Jeff Allen cut the Cats lead at 3-2.
The Cats (7-2) added four runs in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach when Shelby Ford hit a two-run double to make it 7-2 game. The Cats added three more runs in the eighth inning to end their scoring for the evening.
Agustin Septimo hit his first homerun of the season that drove in two runs to end the scoring for the game at 10-4.
Reliever Hector Contin (1-0) earned the win for the Cats going two and one-third innings while striking out three.
Curtis Camilli (0-1) took the loss going five and two-thirds innings while striking out seven hitting and allowing three earned runs.
The Cats and Roadrunners will play game two of the four game series on Sunday night when Justin Klipp (1-1; 1.17 ERA) is scheduled to take on Cole Stephens (1-0; 0.00 ERA) of the Cats. First pitch is at 6:05 and the game broadcast can be heard at Roadrunnerball.com.
The Cats return home on June 6 when they face the San Angelo Colts. The game will headline Thirsty Thursday, where beer and soda is just two dollars all night.
