Fort Worth Cats News Release

The Fort Worth Cats have signed catcher Adam Miller and outfielder Brad Sullivan to contracts for the 2009 season, it was announced today.

Miller, 26, split the 2008 season between Shreveport in the American Association and San Angelo in the United League. With Shreveport in 43 games, Miller had 14 runs batted in and split time between first base and behind the plate. He was a member of both the 2006 and 2007 Cats' championship teams, playing in 39 games with the Cats in 2006 and 46 games in 2007.

He played high school baseball in Waxahachie and college ball at Northeastern (Okla.) State.

Sullivan was a first round draft pick of the Oakland A's in 2003 as a pitcher, but will play primarily in the outfield for the Cats. After being drafted out of the University of Houston, Sullivan spent five seasons in the Oakland system.

In his first full season in the minors in 2004, he posted an 8-11 record and a 4.65 ERA in 27 games at Modesto in the California League. Injuries limited his time on the mound in 2005. He made 21 relief appearances for Stockton in the California League in 2006. He appeared in only five games in 2007 and did not play last season.

With the University of Houston, he notched a 13-1 record with a 1.83 ERA in 18 starts in 2003. He had a 2.91 ERA in 2003 before being drafted. He was a part of Team USA in the summer of the 2002 at the World University Championships and had a 7-0 record with an 0.72 ERA.

He played college baseball at Nederland (TX) High School and was twice selected as District MVP. Had a .424 batting average during his high school career and batted .535 his senior season.
