July 6, 2019 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
North Adams SteepleCats News Release
The Cats came into tonight's game with a two-game mini win streak and were looking to make it 3 in a row with Gordon Graceffo on the to face the Wave's lineup. Graceffo did not disappoint as he tied a career high 8 strikeouts as he is now the first SteepleCats starter to appear in the 7th inning as he pitched 7 innings to the tune of 1 run on 3 hits. The bats came alive early for the Cats as they tallied 4 consecutive singles in the first inning to jump out to a 2-run lead after the first inning. They would add on four more runs through the rest of the game, there was also some great defense that contributed to this great outing by Graceffo as his catcher Shane Muntz gunned down two runners attempting to steal on him as well as cracking two hits on the night and logging an RBI. The Cats have won three in a row and will look to make it 4 as they head to Valley for a matchup with the Blue Sox as Nick Payero will be taking the ball for them tomorrow. They maintain their hold on first place with this win tonight and will look to grow it tomorrow at Valley.
