Cats Get Big Divisional Win After Dropping Double-Header

North Adams SteepleCats News Release
The SteepleCats headed up to the Vermont capital to take on the Mountaineers, in what was a big matchup between two of the 5 North teams that are all within a game and a half of each other in the division standings. The Cats had some early offense and jumped ahead 4-0 after just 3 innings of play. But Vermont was right on their heals, as they would be all night answering big offensive innings for the Cats with crooked numbers of their own. Shane Muntz put a ball into orbit last night to help his teams offensive efforts, so if your reception was spotty last night that's because Muntz probably hit the satellite. In an offensive game that saw the two teams combine for 18 runs scored it was Joe Kemlage out of the bullpen that brought some consistency to the mound for the Cats and guided them through the last 3 innings defensively and delivered them to a 10-8 win. The SteepleCats are now a game out of first and are scheduled to face off against the first place Keene Swampbats tonight at Joe Wolfe, so come out and root on your Cats as they make their final late season charge to the post season.
