Fort Worth Cats News Release

The Fort Worth Cats announced today that the organization has finalized its schedule for the 2006 season. An Independence Day game at LaGrave Field highlights the Cats' 96-game schedule. The Cats open the season at home May 11 against the Shreveport Sports.

"We're playing five of the first six weekends of the season at LaGrave Field," Cats general manager Monty Clegg said. "We're excited about playing in the American Association in 2006. It should be a great league. We'll play an unbalanced schedule with the majority of our games coming against teams within the South Division. There's a lot of history involving many of these clubs in the American Association including the fact that Fort Worth and St. Paul were two of the top farm clubs for the Brooklyn Dodgers.

"We'll have a number of new faces on this year's team mixed in with quite a few players from last year's championship team. We've got all kinds of new things planned for this season including a number of visits from Hall of Famers. We'll once again have quite a few fireworks shows at LaGrave Field. Our fans are really looking forward to getting things started in May."

The Cats will play 48 home and 48 away games this season. All home games at LaGrave Field begin at 7:05 p.m., except for Sunday, May 21 (1:05 p.m.); Wednesday, May 31 (12:05 p.m.); and July 31 (5:05 p.m. doubleheader).

The American Association will consist of 10 teams this season. The Cats will play in the South Division with Coastal Bend, El Paso, Pensacola and Shreveport. The North Division will be made up of Lincoln, Sioux City, Sioux Falls, St. Paul and St. Joseph.

Individual game tickets for the 2006 season go on sale Saturday, April 1. Single Game tickets can be purchased by phone, in person, by mail or online at www.fwcats.com.
