Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) â In a game where two teams combined for four errors, three wild pitches, two hit by pitches, and one balk, the Columbus Catfish avoided a four-game sweep by scoring three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to defeat the Lake County Captains by a score of 8-6 in South Atlantic League action Thursday night at Eastlake Ballpark.
The Catfish (19-14) scored the first run of the ballgame in the third inning without recording a hit, as Dominique Laurin was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a sacrifice, and then went to third on an errant throw by Captains starter Ed Mujica. Laurin scored on a sacrificy fly by Chin-lung Hu, who hit tallied eight hits in the four-game series against Lake County.
The Captains (16-18) took the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Javier Herrera blasted a three-run home run to the left field bleachers. Two at-bats later Micah Schilling ripped a solo home run to right, and the Captains led 4-1.
Jereme Milons tripled in the fifth to score two runs and cut the Columbus deficit to one run. He then scored on a wild pitch from Mujica to tie the game at four. Mujica lasted five innings and gave up four runs on four hits, with no walks and four strikeouts. He threw a wild pitch and hit two batters.

The Captains defense committed two errors in the inning and Laffey also hit a batter as the Catfish snatched an 8-5 lead. Pinckney hit his third home run of the season in the 7th to cut the Catfish lead to 8-6, but the Captains could not rally in the ninth and suffer their first loss in the current 8-game homestand.
