
Catfish Slugger Earns SAL Player of the Week

Columbus, GA - Columbus Catfish first baseman Matt Fields earned the South Atlantic League player of his week award for his play during the week of June 18-24. That stretch included one four-game series against the Savannah Sand Gnats. In that series Fields was 7-for-18 with six runs, six RBI and three home runs.
Fields hit six home runs in ten games from June 11 through June 26. That included a home run in four straight games. The 6-4, 255-pound slugger leads the Catfish with 13 home runs and is tied for second with 46 RBI.
