Tri-City Dust Devils News Release

Rooster Tails Race to Victories

The Columbia River Rooster Tails made their second appearance of the season this weekend at Gesa Stadium, winning the final two games of the series over the Spokane Indians. The Rooster Tails (Dust Devils alternate identity) saw the start of two promising careers, with the professional debuts of 1st round shortstop Zach Neto and 9th round outfielder Joe Stewart. Neto, the 13th overall selection by the Angels, made a splash on Sunday, launching his first career homerun well over the left field wall!

Trip North of the Border

The Dust Devils head north this week for six games against the Vancouver Canadians, affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. Left-hander Jose Salvador takes the ball in tonight's series opener, followed by Zac Kristofak and Robinson Piña on Wednesday and Thursday. The Canadians enter the series playing good baseball in the second half, currently 18-11 and in second place behind the Eugene Emeralds.

Pitcher of the Week

Dust Devils righty Landon Marceaux earned his second Northwest League Pitcher of the Week Award, thanks to his dominant performance on Saturday night against the Indians. Marceaux went eight shutout innings, striking out eight and allowing just two hits. This was the fourth weekly award earned by the Dust Devils this season.
