Casper, WY - The Casper Rockies have announced that right-handed pitcher Sandy Nin will join the team on July 18.
Nin, the 25-year-old from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, joins the Rockies on a 30-day rehab assignment after splitting the 2005 season between Modesto and Tulsa. Last season, Nin posted one of the finest campaigns in the Rockies organization after going 14-7 with a 3.05 ERA (165.0 ip, 58 er) and 114 strikeouts in 27 starts.
The Rockies acquired Nin from Toronto on December 14, 2003 which completed a three-way trade between Colorado, Toronto and Tampa Bay.
