Cary Invasion News Release
In front of an energized crowd at the J.D. Fuller Center in Fayetteville on Friday night, the Cary Invasion (11 - 0) escaped with a win over the Fayetteville Crossover by a score of 123 - 115. The game was tight most of the way, with Fayetteville making a run and taking a lead in the fourth quarter. But, consistent with the season's script, the Invasion played offense and defense down the stretch to seal the victory.
"It was a great road win in a very tough environment. We have played close games with them all year. They are a good team, and their hospitality is second to none," " says Invasion Head Coach, MarQus Johnson. "We'll have to play even better to meet the challenges ahead, including our game against Wilmington on Sunday and our first round play off game next Friday in Cary."
Former Mountain State guard Paul Wright and former St. Augustine's College star Charles Ward each had 22 points in the win for the Invasion. Crossover guard Jarrick Jones led all scorers with 25 points. Cary plays next again at Wilmington on Sunday, June 19th at 7 pm for the team's regular season finale.
