Cary Invasion News Release

Cary, NC: The Carolina Gladiators arrived in Cary ready to play on Sunday evening. The visitors stormed out to score the first 8 points of the game and easily controlled the entire first quarter by outhustling and outshooting the Invasion. Early in the second quarter the Gladiators pushed the lead to as many as 16 points against a very flat home team.

Invasion Coach Eric "EV" Vaughn strategically used the second squad to spark a wild comeback that erased the entire lead by halftime. The Invasion led 63 - 62 after 2 quarters. Most of the third quarter remained tight with a half dozen lead changes.

The late third quarter and fourth quarter belonged to the home team though. Cary's pressing defense forced multiple turnovers, and Invasion newcomers Marsheree Neely and Corey Evans put on a scoring highlight show. Cary built a lead of as many as 16 points of their own and held on to win 134-120. Carolina's Leon Frazier led all scorers with 34 points. Marsheree Neely had 26 points for the Invasion. Eight Cary players scored in double figures.

Cary plays next at home against the Wilmington Sea Dawgs on April 14th at 5 pm at the Herb Young Center. For more information, please write info@caryinvasion.com.
