Carolina RailHawks Participate in Downtown Parade

February 14, 2008 - USL First Division (USL-1)
North Carolina FC News Release

The Carolina RailHawks announced today they will participate in the "Salute to Our Troops" Parade on Saturday, April 26th at 10 AM officially kicking off Opening Day festivities. Members of the Carolina RailHawks USL-1 team as well as Swoops and the Carolina RailHawks Dancers will parade in downtown Raleigh alongside members of every branch of the military and their families.

The event, spearheaded by the North Carolina Bankers Association, was devised to show the troops of North Carolina how much the people of the state appreciate all that they do and the sacrifices that they and their families make as well as to create a means by which the people and industries of the state can help to leave a legacy at each branch and installation.

The Parade is just one of the events planned for the day as the NCBA has put together an impressive schedule that will include a fun land area with rides for the children, free admission to downtown Raleigh museums including Marbles Kid's Museum, a food area provided by the Pork Council of North Carolina and culminate with the Carolina RailHawks 2008 Home Opener at WakeMed Soccer Park at 7:30 PM against the Charleston Battery

The Carolina RailHawks organization will donate 1,000 tickets to be divided among every branch of the military and distributed to troops and their families so they can attend the match. WakeMed Opening Day will be dubbed "Military Appreciation Night" as the RailHawks will also have special offers for the Military and their families. WakeMed is the title sponsor of the Carolina RailHawks Opening Day and will be an integral part of the RailHawks' opening night festivities on April 26th.
