Jay Entlich on facing the Boston Breakers: "We're going to have to keep their forwards in check, especially Dagny Mellgren who has been on fire the last month. Offensively, we think we have the ability to get in behind their backline. However, to do so, we will need to win the battle in midfield, which is where games are won and lost."

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
"At this level, people like Abby Wambach go for diving headers, and it was a great finish on her part. My decision should have been to stay on my line. I've learned from that, but it was just a great finish on her part." ~
Courage goalkeeper Meghann Burke

Week in Review:
Courage Players Receive Championship Rings: In a pre-game ceremony, Carolina Courage General Manager Scott Travasos and WUSA President presented the Courage players from last season's team with their WUSA championship rings. Thirteen current members of the Courage received rings. Also on hand were Kim Yankowski-Montgomery and Staci Wilson.
Yankowski-Montgomery Joins The Courage Broadcast Team: Former Courage midfielder and local fan favorite Kim Yankowski-Montgomery will join Dean Linke and Bill Palladino as third member of the Courage broadcast team this season. Yankowski-Montgomery will serve as the sideline reporter for the Courage's regional broadcasts. She will also join Linke in the booth as the primary color analyst when Palladino, the U.S. Women's Assistant Coach, is away with the National Team.
Burke, Boyd and Carlson Make Their WUSA Debuts: Three rookies made their WUSA debuts for the Carolina Courage on Saturday when they each got the start for the defending champion Carolina Courage. Breanna Boyd was outstanding in the center of the Carolina defense, playing 90 minutes, taking one shot on goal and making one block. Meghann Burke played 90 minutes, registering four saves and conceding two goals. Carlson played 37 minutes before being replaced by Brooke O'Hanley.
Prinz Picks Up Where She Left Off: The Courage's top gun forward Birgit Prinz notched her first goal of the 2003 season in the sixth minute. Prinz also recorded the Carolina's last goal of the season in the Founders Cup.
The goal was reminiscent of the Founders Cup game-winner in that Prinz overpowered a Washington defender before slotting the ball past Freedom goalkeeper Siri Mullinix.
A New Season Of Carolina Courage Soccer Show Debuts Saturday: The popular Carolina Courage Soccer Show will begin a new season this Saturday, April 12th at 11:30 am. The 1/2 hour show, which airs on ESPN2's local sports break, is hosted by the voice of the Carolina Courage Dean Linke and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the world of the WUSA. This weekend's episode includes an interview with rookie goalkeeper Meghann Burke, highlights from the Championship Ring Ceremony, and a report from the "Angels Among Us" fundraiser to benefit the Duke Brain Center.
