San Jose CyberRays News Release
SAN JOSE (April 8, 2003) â San Jose CyberRays defender Dianne Alagich scored two goals Monday in Australia's 11-0 victory over the Cook Islands in Oceania qualifying for the Women's World Cup in China. The World Cup begins Sept. 23.
Alagich missed Saturday night's WUSA season-opener between the CyberRays and Philadelphia Charge because of her call-up to the national team. She played 75 minutes of Australia's 19-0 victory over Samoa last week in the first game of Oceania qualifying.
The CyberRays have an open date this weekend and resume league play at 4:30 p.m. April 19 against the Washington Freedom at Spartan Stadium, the first game of a doubleheader that includes the MLS San Jose Earthquakes vs. the Kansas City Wizards at 7 p.m. Alagich will be available to the CyberRays for that game.
