PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that linesman Paul Carnathan will work his 500th ECHL game on Saturday in Greenville, S.C. when the Road Warriors host the South Carolina Stingrays.

Carnathan is just the eighth linesman in the 23-year history of the ECHL to reach the 500-game milestone, and the second this season joining Ray King who worked his 500th game on Dec. 10.

He is in his 10th season as an ECHL linesman and worked the 2005 All-Star Game in Reading as well as the Kelly Cup Finals in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Carnathan has also worked in the American Hockey League since the 2002-03 season, and worked the Calder Cup Playoffs in 2009 and 2010.

Carnathan worked his first ECHL game in October 2001 in Lafayette, La along with referee Nygel Pelletier and linesman Brad Sotak.

"This is a special milestone to reach as Paul is one of only eight linesmen to reach this regular-season game total in the history of the ECHL. It shows the dedication and passion he has for the League," said ECHL Director of Officiating Joe Ernst. "I personally want to congratulate Paul for reaching this milestone as he has been an official that we have leaned on for leadership over the past few seasons with our young staff."

"It has been a privilege to work in the ECHL over the course of my officiating career," Carnathan said. "I'd like to thank Bryan Graham for initially giving me the opportunity to join the ECHL Officiating Staff, as well as the current and former league office members for enabling me to work so many memorable games. I've had the pleasure of working with phenomenal officials throughout my tenure in the league and I'd like to thank them for their teamwork & tireless dedication to the game. With their support, I am proud to achieve this milestone in the ECHL."
