
Cards lose to Muckdogs

New Jersey Cardinals News Release
This evening at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey, the New Jersey Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) lost to the Batavia Muckdogs (Philadelphia Phillies) 3-2. New Jersey drops to 31-41 as the Muckdogs go to 29-44. Justin Libey (4-4) picked up the win for the Muckdogs as Jordan Pals takes the loss (2-4) for the Cardinals. C.J. Woodrow gets his 2nd save for the Muckdogs.
The Cardinals scored their only 2 runs in the 1st inning. Chris Tuttle led off reaching base on an error by second baseman Tim Moss. Then Omar Pena doubled and Tuttle went to third. After Kevin Estrada struck out, Jose Virgils ground out scored Tuttle. Sal Frisella was then hit by a pitch and Brendan Ryan singled to score Pena.
Kevin Estrada was 2-4 with 2 singles and 1 stolen base. Brendan Ryan was 1-4 with an RBI single. Billy Schmitt went 1-4 with his second triple of the season.
The Cardinals play their final home game of the season on Wednesday September 2nd as they host the Staten Island Yankees. It will be the Miller Lite Bat Raffle and Mickey Rivers will be in attendance to autograph copies of his new book.
