Springdale, AR - The Springfield Cardinals (26-38) struck for two runs in the 1st and never looked back, claiming the series opener, 5-3, against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (31-32) on Tuesday night at Arvest Ballpark.

OF Moises Gomez moved back into a tie for 1st in all of Minor League Baseball with his 22nd homer of the season, a solo shot in the 1st... 3B Jordan Walker drove in a pair of runs with RBI sac flies in the 1st and 3rd innings... DH Nick Raposo added an RBI sac fly in the 4th... Gomez added an RBI walk to his homer in the 7th... RHP Grant Black (2.0 IP) and RHP Ryan Loutos (2.1 IP) both dealt scoreless relief to close the win.
