Cardinals Swept by Cyclones

Today at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey, the New Jersey Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) were swept by the Brooklyn Cyclones (New York Mets) by the score of 6-3 game one and 1-0 in game two. With the losses the Cardinals fall to 2-9, and Brooklyn improves to 8-3. Thomas Blair (0-1) took the loss in the first game for the Cardinals as Brooklyns Javier Ochoa improved to 2-0 on the season. In game two, Bob Runyon (0-2) took the loss and Taylor George picked up the win for the Cyclones with a save from Robert Paulk.

Jose Virgil and Kainoa Obrey each had a pair of hits in game one for the Cardinals. Virgil and Obrey each had a double on the day with Virgils coming in game one and Obreys in game two. The Cardinals were held to three hits in the second game.

The Cardinals will take on the Cyclones tomorrow in Brooklyn. New Jersey returns home on Monday, June 30th, at 7:15 PM against Hudson Valley. Spong Bob will make another appearance on Monday at Skylands Park. The first 500 fans will also receive a 10th Anniversary Top Prospect Card.
