Jupiter Hammerheads News Release
JUPITER, FL- The Palm Beach Cardinals (25-30) crushed the Jupiter Hammerheads (25-33) by a score of 15-3 tonight at Roger Dean Stadium. Palm Beach scored seven runs in the first two innings and never looked back. Jupiter starter Tom Koehler (3-1) struggled and allowed seven runs on eight hits and lasted only one 2/3 innings.
Cardinals' catcher Charles Cutler tripled twice, finishing one shy of the Florida State League individual game record. He finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs (10) and three runs scored. Palm Beach recorded four triples in this evening's contest. Chris Swauger also had a huge game and was 5-for-6 with four RBIs (33). Tommy Pham (7) homered and finished with four RBIs (35). Palm Beach finished with a season-high 25 hits.
Palm Beach starter Brian Broderick (8-6) threw seven strong innings to help the Cardinals salvage the final game of this series. The right-hander allowed one run on four hits and struck out a season-high eight batters.
The Hammerheads begin a six-game road trip Tuesday that will take them to Charlotte and Fort Myers. They will return to Roger Dean Stadium on September 1st for the final week of the season.
