JUPITER, Fla. - David Washington ended a 14-inning marathon with a sacrifice fly to drive in the game-winning run in a 3-2 win for the Palm Beach Cardinals over the Fort Myers Miracle on Friday at Roger Dean Stadium.

A position player, Caldwell (1-0) had entered as a pitcher. After giving up a lead off single in the top of the 14th to Aderling Mejia, Caldwell retired Adam Brett Walker on a fly out and induced a 4-6-3 double play from Niko Goodrum.
The Cardinals jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a Garcia solo home run. After retiring the first five hitters consecutively, Miracle starter David Hurlbut's 1-2 pitch to Garcia was deposited beyond the wall in left field. The homer was Garcia's fourth of the season.
