Captains Teaming Up With Toys For Tots

(Eastlake, Ohio) The Lake County Captains are teaming up with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve again this year to be a collection point for Toys for Tots program. The Captains are thrilled to be involved with Toys for Tots which provides toys to needy children during the holidays. All of the toys donated at the Captains administrative office will be distributed to children in Northeast Ohio.

Since Toys for Tots started in 1947, they have collected over 386,000,000 toys and the program has had support from such notable Americans as Walt Disney, Nat "King" Cole, Bob Hope, John Wayne, Brooke Shields, and more. Former First Lady Barbara Bush served as the honorary national chairperson in 1992 and in her autobiography named Toys for Tots as one of her favorite charities.

The Captains are asking all of their fans to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the ballpark. For every new, unwrapped toy brought to the Toys for Tots box at Classic Park, the Captains will give a special 15% off coupon good for non-sale merchandise at the Cargo Hold Team Shop. The Captains will be receiving toys from now until Monday, December 8th.

For your holiday shopping, the Cargo Hold Team Shop is open Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. The Captains 2009 home opener will be Thursday, April 9th against the Hagerstown Suns, the Class "A" affiliate of the Washington Nationals.
