Captains Promotional Schedule Announced

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, have announced their 2009 promotional schedule, highlighted by 20 fireworks shows and a variety of premium giveaway items. Opening night is Thursday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. versus the Hagerstown Suns, the Class A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

Opening Weekend is April 9-12 and the Captains want to make sure your Good Friday is a "Great Friday" on April 10 as the club offers an all-you-can-eat fish fry and game ticket for only $18. Opening Weekend will also feature a magnet schedule giveaway, rally towel giveaway, and the first post-game fireworks spectacular of the year. In addition, on Easter Sunday, April 12, the Captains will welcome the Easter Bunny to the ballpark and all kids in attendance will have the opportunity to participate in a post-game egg hunt on the outfield grass with 3,000 prize-filled eggs.

The Captains will offer many premium giveaways throughout the season, including an Omar Vizquel bobblehead doll on Friday, July 31. Vizquel suited up for the Captains for four games in 2003. The Captains will give away the very popular fleece blankets on Saturday August 15 and fans will also receive baseball hats, replica jerseys, t-shirts, and reusable tote bags at specific games throughout the year.

In addition to great giveaways and fireworks, the Captains will also feature special weeknight promotions, including the new and improved "Buck Night Monday Presented by National City", which will offer $1 off all regular-priced game tickets as well as a $1 concession menu that includes hot dogs, fries, popcorn, peanuts, chips, onion rings, mini corn dogs, soda and beer.

During Tuesday and Wednesday night games, Captains fans will eat to their heart's content with the debut of "Feed Your Face" nights. For only $15, fans receive a game ticket and all-you-can-eat hot dogs, hamburgers, mini corn dogs, peanuts and popcorn.

Wednesday nights will also feature a new and improved Win Big Wednesday promotion where the first 1,000 fans will receive special scratch-off tickets upon entry into Classic Park. Each ticket will include a special prize or discount and one fan will have the chance to go on the field during the game and win $500 in cash.

Thirsty Thursday returns as well, featuring ½-price fountain soda and draught beer, in addition to "Pub Food" appetizer specials. The Captains will also feature a live local band or local DJ Karaoke prior to each Thursday game.

Plevin and Gallucci Family Fun Sunday will feature pre-game player autograph sessions, lots of concourse entertainment and the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game courtesy of Andrews Osborne Academy.

In addition to weekly food specials, the Captains will also once again be offering its popular all-you-can-eat Rightfield Terrace Buffet for any fan attending games at Classic Park this season. For only $15 ($10 for kids), fans can enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet that includes food options and non-alcoholic beverages until the fifth inning.
