(Kannapolis, NC) - Dale Mollenhauer hit for the cycle and had four RBI's and Mark Fleisher had four hits as the Kannapolis Intimidators beat the Lake County Captains on Thursday 10-4. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak and drops the Captains record to 3-1 on the road trip. Kannapolis banged out fifteen hits in the game and every batter reached base.

The Intimidators got the bats working early against Captains starter Ryan Miller when they scored three times in the bottom of the first inning. Christian Marrero and Sergio Morales had RBI singles and Morales scored on a wild pitch and it was 3-0.

The Captains tied it up in the fifth inning when Karexon Sanchez led off the inning with a single and went to third on a single by Mark Thompson. Matt Willard doubled scoring Sanchez and moving Thompson to third. Thompson scored on an infield single by Lucas Montero with Willard taking third and then Willard scored on a ground out by Adam White and it was 3-3.

The tied game was short lived when, in the bottom of the fifth inning, Dale Mollenhauer hit a two-run home run to make it 5-3. Mollenhauer did more damage in the sixth inning, this time against Captains reliever John Gaub, when he doubled home two runs to up the lead to 7-3. Two more runs scored when Sergio Miranda singled home Mollenhauer and Fleisher drove home Miranda to make it 9-3. The Captains scored a run in the seventh off of reliever Santo Luis on an RBI single by Adam Davis and it was 9-4. The Intimidators tacked on a run in the eighth inning off of Joanniel Montero to close the scoring at 10-4.

Miller took the loss to drop his record to 7-3 going five innings and allowing five runs on a season-high eight hits walking three and striking out four. Miller has not won a game since May 18th. Lucas Harrell picked up the win to even his record at 1-1.

The Captains and Intimidators play game three of the four-game series on Friday at 7:05 PM. The Captains will send RHP Chris Archer (2-8, 4.05) to the mound against the Intimidators RHP Levi Maxwell (8-2, 3.51). The Captains game can be heard on AM 1330 WELW, WELW.COM or CAPTAINSBASEBALL.COM.

The Captains return home on Monday, July 7th for an eight-game home stand against Hickory and Asheville. Monday's will be another Buck Night at Classic Park featuring $1 hot dogs, beer, and soda.

Tickets for all Captains home games including the 2008 SAL Playoffs are on sale at the Classic Park box office, by phone at 440-954-WINS (9467) or at captainsbaseball.com. Tickets for the Playoffs remain the same as regular season game tickets, $9 reserved seat, $7 bleachers, juniors, and seniors, $6 lawn. Lawn seats for the Playoffs will only be sold once the reserved seats and bleachers are sold out. The $7 group rate will still apply to groups of 20 or more.
