Dayton Dragons News Release

Eastlake, Ohio - Lake County's Bo Naylor belted a grand slam home run and drove in six runs to lead the Captains to a 13-2 victory over the Dayton Dragons on Monday night. The Dragons will need a win in a noon game on Tuesday to earn a split of the series.

Lake County took command of the game quickly, scoring four runs in the first inning and four more in the second to build an early 8-0 lead. They led 9-0 before the Dragons scored in the seventh on a run-scoring double by Matt Lloyd and a sacrifice fly by Miles Gordon to make it 9-2. Lake County closed out the scoring with four runs in the eighth inning.

Dragons starting pitcher Jordan Johnson, in his first start with the ballclub after missing two months earlier this season with a shoulder injury, was charged with the loss. He pitched the first inning and faced two batters in the second, allowing six runs on six hits with one walk and no strikeouts.

Connor Curlis followed Johnson and tossed three innings, allowing three runs on five hits with one walk and four strikeouts. Moises Nova worked two scoreless innings, retiring six of seven batters faced. Jerry D'Andrea finished out the game with two innings, allowing four runs on three hits with one walk and a strikeout.

The Dragons finished with seven hits. Juan Martinez was 3 for 4 with a triple to extend his hitting streak to 11 straight games. That matched Randy Ventura for the team's longest hitting streak of the year.
