(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains scored three runs in the eighth inning to break a 2-2 tie on their way to a 5-2 victory over the Lexington Legends Friday night at Classic Park. The Captains got rolling in the first inning against Legends starter Carlos Ladeuth with Karexon Sanchez singling with one out. He moved to third on Roman Pena's double and scored on a sacrifice fly by Matt Brown. Pena scored from second on Chris Nash's single to make it 2-0. The Legends tied it up in the third. With two out, Collin Delome doubled. He scored on Max Sapp's double. Sapp scored on a single by Eric Taylor and tied the game at 2-2.

The game was tied until the bottom of the eighth when the Captains scored three runs. Pena hit a bases loaded sacrifice fly to give the Captains the lead. A wild pitch by reliever Mike Koons scored Adam White and Nash singled home Sanchez to top off the three run inning to make it 5-2.

Ryan Morris did not factor in the decision going five innings and allowing two runs on four hits, he walked four and struck out six. Josh Judy relieved Morris and pitched two scoreless innings. Kyle Landis (1-1) came on in the eighth inning and pitched a scoreless inning to pick up his first win. Vinnie Pestano pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his eleventh save. Ladeuth would strike out a season high nine batters but would not get a decision. Mike Koons took the loss in relief to drop to 0-3.
