Captains 2021 Schedule Announced

February 18, 2021 - High-A Central League (High-A Central) - Lake County Captains News Release

(Eastlake, OH) - Baseball is coming back! Major League Baseball today released schedules for the 2021 minor league season. The Lake County Captains will open their first season as the High-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians on May 4, on the road against the Lansing Lugnuts (Oakland A's). The Captains' home opener will be Tuesday, May 11 against the Fort Wayne TinCaps (San Diego Padres).

About the Schedule

The Captains will play a 120-game schedule in the new High-A Central League. The season will run from May 4 through September 19. Lake County's schedule is broken up into 20 six-game series. Each series will run from Tuesday through Sunday. Every Monday will be a league-wide off day.

The Captains' new league is comprised of the following opponents, all of whom were previously part of the Midwest League: Lansing, Fort Wayne, Dayton (Cincinnati Reds), Great Lakes Loons (Los Angeles Dodgers), West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers), Beloit Snappers (Miami Marlins), Cedar Rapids Kernels (Minnesota Twins), Peoria Chiefs (St. Louis Cardinals), Quad Cities River Bandits (Kansas City Royals), South Bend Cubs (Chicago Cubs) and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Milwaukee Brewers). The Captains were members of the Midwest League from 2010-2020. They previously played in the South Atlantic League from 2003-2009.

Further information regarding ticketing, promotions, game times and health and safety procedures will be announced in the near future.

Because it is likely the Captains will begin the season with reduced capacity, the best way to guarantee seats for the 2021 season is to secure a season ticket plan. To reserve your seats, please contact Kate Roth at kroth@captainsbaseball.com.

Announcements regarding the Captains' coaching staff and roster are expected in the coming weeks.
